The Creation Museum & Bible Story Telling

I just got back late last night from taking my children to the Creation Museum that opened on Memorial Day next to the Cincinnati International Airport in Petersburg, KY.

In Bible Story Telling, we are called upon to be able to visualize the story ourselves first. We are also often called upon to add historical facts that make the story intelligible for modern listeners.

The museum succeeds admirably in this with beautiful displays inside and a wonderful botanical garden outside on the property. There's much "food" there for the Storyteller's imagination. In fact, the museum itself is laid out as an overview of the Biblical Story - Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, the Crucifixion and the Consummation. This layout itself helps Christians have a good overview of scripture.

There was a treasure trove of historical information as well. For example, using known information about ancient Greek shipbuilding processes, they were able to reconstruct a quite beautiful representation of Noah's Ark.

As a side note: The new museum has had over 100,000 since Memorial Day this year. There's obviously quite a hunger to learn more about this information.
